Who we are

Welcome to Groby Juniors Football club which was formed in 2003 from an amalgamation of other local villages. Since that time of having only 10 boys teams, it has blossomed with us now having 20 teams, including both boys and girls ranging from Under 7’s through to Under 16’s.

We currently have approximately 240 players within the club, all of whom hope to be stars one day, and indeed we have had some success over the years. The most noticeable of course in Emile Heskey who went on to play for Leicester, Liverpool and of course England. But we have had success in the lower leagues with players at Port Vale, Grimsby, Tamworth and indeed we currently have a player with the U16’s at Mansfield Town.

We currently play at 2 main sites within Groby.

Our Girls and older boys teams play at the Brookvale learning campus, whilst our younger boys teams play on the Stamford Memorial Park. We are very grateful to the Groby Parish Council for allowing us to be able to play on this park, a site which was gifted to the Parish Council by Bloor Homes for the purpose of playing sport back in the 1980’s.

We are run by a management committee consisting of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer , Child Welfare Officers and a girls and boys liaison officer. We also have monthly managers meetings which are attended by the team managers where any relevant information can be passed on to their respective players parents.

We are also a F.A. Standard Charter Development Club which means that we have comply with all F.A. directives on Child Protection, Ethnicity and Diversity, Disability, as well ah having codes of conduct for players and spectators.

We like to think of ourselves as a well run progressive club and are always looking for ways to expand, it is our intention to find a permanent home with our own club house and ground, but that is obviously a long term goal but we have high hopes that we can do it.
